Interdisciplinary Graduate Programs Chair

The Interdisciplinary Life Sciences Graduate Program is composed of three graduate programs in the Collage of Natural Sciences; Biochemistry, Cell and Molecular Biology, and Microbiology. Each program has a dedicated Graduate Studies Committee (GSC), the committee of all faculty who are members of that program.

The GSC Chair oversees the Graduate Studies Committee and the program's executive committee (if applicable).

The Graduate Advisors are faculty members appointed by the Dean of the Graduate School to advise their program's doctoral students (generally in the sense of clarifying policy or granting exceptions to policy), to monitor their academic progress, and to represent the Graduate School in matters relating to graduate students. 

If the program has two advisors, the first-year advisor assists new graduate students with course selection, track requirements, and laboratory placements. The continuing student advisor supports students beginning in their second year of study.
