The Interdisciplinary Life Sciences (ILS) Graduate Programs foster a collaborative and dynamic research environment to prepare the next generation of scientific leaders. 


Our programs offer comprehensive training in Biochemistry, Cellular and Molecular Biology and Microbiology from over 130 faculty members in the Colleges of Natural Sciences, Cockrell School of Engineering, College of Pharmacy and Dell Medical School. Faculty research spans biochemistry, molecular biology, genetics, microbiology, nanoscience, synthetic biology, neurobiology, drug development, biophysics, bioengineering, bioinformatics and more.

We emphasize interdisciplinary collaboration, cutting-edge research, personalized mentorship and professional development to equip students with the skills needed for success in a wide range of scientific careers.
