Application Process
BEFORE YOU APPLY
Please read all instructions published by both the Interdisciplinary Life Sciences Graduate Programs and The University of Texas at Austin Graduate School before submitting an application. We also encourage you to review the Frequently Asked Questions page.
Applications are only accepted for the fall semester each year and only for admission to the PhD program.
The application process can take multiple days to complete all of the steps. We strongly recommend you submit your initial application no less than 3 days prior to the final deadline to ensure you have time to submit all of the associated documentation prior to the deadline.
WHEN TO APPLY
Fall 2026 applications are now closed.
Applications for Fall 2027 will open in August of 2026.
AFTER YOU APPLY
Once completed, please monitor your application via the MyStatus portal. Admissions decisions will be posted in the MyStatus portal, with additional notifications sent via email.
Final admissions decisions for all candidates are typically released by mid-February.

Our program staff and admissions committee will not evaluate materials prior to submission of an application. Do not send transcripts, C.V.s, or other materials directly to the graduate program staff. All materials must be submitted to the University of Texas at Austin Graduate School.
