The Interdisciplinary Life Sciences Graduate Programs (ILSGP), provides a support base for the Biochemistry (BCH), Cell and Molecular Biology (CMB), and Microbiology (MIC) Graduate Programs.
Our graduate programs provide a highly interactive, supportive environment with excellent opportunities to participate in cutting edge biological and biomedical research. We offer a uniquely broad and multidisciplinary graduate education, bringing together faculty from numerous academic departments. These dynamic programs unite over 130 members of the UT faculty with interests in aspects of biochemistry, cell or molecular biology or microbiology, and with whom students may pursue their doctoral research.
Our philosophy is to broadly and flexibly train students in preparation for diverse careers in biological/biomedical research in academia, industry or government, university teaching, public policy, and other scholarly pursuits, and to provide financial support to our students for the duration of their graduate education.
